Despite all the recent controversies, SAA maintained their professionalism and organised the Allcomers in Bukit Gombak Stadium well. I observed an effort being made to feed live results on the wall of the photo finish room. That was something new and very interesting, just like the big screens that replay the runs and display the results straight after the event.
It was quite a good turn out, especially for athletes gearing up for the National schools competition which will happen in less than 2 months time. However, none of the 4 x 100m relay boys were seen competing in the sprints event. Will they be ready for the big games at the end of the year? Or are they just interested in regional meets and games?
As usual, I encouraged our guys to take part in the 100m and 400m. It was great to see that they were not tired after the race. At this phase of the year, my target is to get my guys’ fitness levels up, so that they can sustain higher intensity training as we progress into the season. As such, it seems that we are heading down the right track.
Our guys tried their best to run a good race; however the time clocked didn’t look as promising. It is still early in the season, and this is only the 2nd competition of the year. Many competitions along the way are lined up for us, so we just have to stay focused and reproduce what we do in training.
Here are some of the videos that I took, please pardon the quality for now…
