The annual Akira Swift Meet attracts hundreds of primary school athletes to participate in the Track and Field events. In fact, this is the only meet apart from the National Primary School Championship, that allows mass participation for the primary school level. However, the 2 day event was delayed by the bad weather, causing much waiting time for the athletes. Some of the athletes pulled out because of the rain and the long delay.
Although I'm dealing mainly with athletes age 16 and above, I am equally concerned about the primary school level kids. I noticed this young indian boy from Ang Mo Kio Primary winning both the 300m and 100m sprints, and he is considered small and short compared to his peers. I was really amazed by his really fantastic running style and posture. He could potentially be the next champion in the future! Good job for the coach!
As for the Reactiv group, we planned to use this meet as a training competition, and those who participated were as follows:
Calvin Kang - 100m, 4 x 100m
Shalindran - 400m, 4 x 100m
Hilmi - 4 x 100m
Jinglong - 4 x 100m
Prayaank - 100m, 4 x 100m
Melanie - 100m
Alfred sim - 100m, 4 x 100m
There was supposed to be more participation, but some of us were having strain and pain. We eventually decided to just send a small team.

It has been 3 years since my last competition and because of some "personal" reasons, I had to race with one of our athletes. Surprisingly, I did quite well even without training! Some of us had to do 3 races on that day, 100m heats and finals, and lastly the 4 x 100m. Team Reactiv, consisted of the "Past", the "Present" and the "Future", namely Alfred Sim, Calvin Kang, Hilmi, JingLong, did the relay legs respectively. We got 2nd in the timed finals.
In the 100m Men, 3 of our guys including myself were in the finals. Calvin Kang, Prayaank and Myself. Calvin did a 10.86s in the heats and 10.83s in the finals. Izwan and Shyam came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
